BillingBench

BillingBench Browser Extension

The BillingBench browser extension surfaces denial benchmarks, CARC code definitions, and appeal guidance directly in your payer portal workflow. Available for Chrome and Firefox. When you're working in Availity, Waystar, UHC Provider Portal, Cigna for Health Care Professionals, Aetna Provider Portal, or any other payer portal, the extension adds a sidebar with instant access to denial code definitions, appeal strategies, and benchmark context — without switching tabs.

When a remittance or denial is open in the portal, the extension reads the visible CARC code (no PHI is transmitted — the extension reads only code numbers from the page) and surfaces the BillingBench entry for that code: definition, common causes, appeal strategy, and regulatory citations. From the sidebar, you can launch the Appeal Letter Builder pre-populated with the denial code, or navigate to the Denial Decoder decision tree for that code.

Session data — denial codes encountered during a browsing session — is stored locally in the extension and never transmitted to BillingBench servers without an explicit export action. The extension does not read or transmit patient names, dates of birth, claim numbers, or any other PHI. A BillingBench workspace account is not required to use the extension; workspace users get the additional benefit of saving denial encounters to their denial queue directly from the sidebar.
