835 ERA Remittance Advice Parser

The 835 ERA Parser processes ANSI X12 835 Electronic Remittance Advice files entirely within your browser. No file content is transmitted to any server — all parsing runs locally in browser memory. This means the tool is safe to use with remittance files that contain patient account numbers and payment data without a separate HIPAA workflow or data transfer agreement.

Upload an 835 file from your clearinghouse, payer portal, or practice management system export. The parser extracts: claim-level payment summary (billed, allowed, paid, patient responsibility), CARC denial codes with definitions for each adjusted service line, collection rate metrics across the remittance batch, denial rate by code and by payer, payment variance from billed charges, and ERA header data including payer name, check date, and EFT trace number.

Output includes a claim-by-claim detail table sortable by denial code, payment amount, or claim status, plus a CARC code frequency breakdown showing which denial codes appear most often in the remittance — the starting point for identifying systemic billing issues. From any CARC code in the output, you can navigate directly to the Denial Code Lookup for the definition and appeal strategy, or launch the Appeal Letter Builder pre-populated with that denial code.

Supported file formats: standard ANSI X12 835 transaction sets from any payer or clearinghouse. Files exported from Availity, Waystar, Change Healthcare, Trizetto, Office Ally, and direct payer portals are all supported.
